Robert Humphrey was a vereran of the United States Army and retired from General Electric as a project manager, also member of the Izaak Walton League of Lynchburg, Virginia. He was married to Phyllis Louise Humphrey for 54 years.

Description
Photograph of the Richland District #5 school. It was the only Richland district to build a brick school. In 1883 voters approved proposal to build a new building for a sum not to exceed $4,000. When all bids came in higher the school directors dicided to build it themselves. Land was pruchased from S.P. Jewett. Materials and bricks were hauled in by rail, wages for labor began at $1.50 a day and later incresed to $2.50. Teamsters earned more. The Italian revival architectual style building served students from 1884 to 1923. Text on folder: "P378, Abandoned District #5 School, (1920s)."

Yorkville Community Church
Description
Photograph of the Yorkville Community Church of white clapboard construction with a bell tower. Built in 1851 it is one of the oldest buildigns in the Richland-Gull Lake area. Wesleyan Methodists held church there from 1860 to 1875. With the church no longer being used it became a storage barn for locals and entered a 20 year decline. In 1894 a local group, including Thomas Graham, Charles Clark, and Walter Wedge performed repairs and remodeling. In 1985 a Baptist Society was organized and Mr. J.H. Robson was chosen deacon. The church remained unchanged until in 1961 a rear wing was added.

Photograph of the Gull Lake Junction depot Yorkville. This is the spur line of the Mansfield, Coldwater and Lake Michigan Rail Road. In 1920 the Michign Railroad Company petitioned for permission to discontinue the agents for their Gull Lake Junction. The request was approved 1920. Text on front: "This is where the spur line of M C R.R. switched to come up to Allendale Gull Lake and Perry Rice's Store at Yorkville about 1900."
