Description
Photograph of a single story cottage with 3 women a child and a man on the porch in a wooded setting. Hawk's Landing, on the south shore of Gull Lake, was a very popular resort formed in 1882 by E.L. Hawks. Families would come in horse and buggy to spend a holiday on it's grounds, which usually included a tour of Gull Lake on Hawk's steamboat the Crystal.

The steamer Crystal on Gull Lake
Description
Photograph of a steamboat with an enclosed cabin stem to stern. It was based at Camp St. Louis on the eastern shore of Gull Lake. The boat was 61 feet long with a 13 foot beam. It will carry 200 passengers. It left from Camp St. Louis at 1, 3 and 5 o'clock and a round trip fare was 25 cents. The steamer was the first in what became a fleet that carried passengers, delivered groceries and mail.

Ladies Library building, Richland, Michigan
Description
Photograph Postcard. The Ladies Library Association raised the funds to build this Classical Revival style building, which was completed in 1910. After serving as a private library for thirty-eight years, it was sold first to the Richland Rural Agricultural School (1948) and then to the First Presbyterian Church (1959). In 1981 the Richland Community Library Board purchased it. Through a community fund-raising campaign, the building was renovated and became the public library for Richland Township in 1983.

Photograph of Clyde and Zeta Noble. Zeta H. Parr was born in Canada in 1896, died in Kalamazoo 1967. Clyde was born in Richland, Michigan 1895 and lived in Parchment. He was the son of James H. and Louella Noble and attended Richland schools and Western Normal School in Kalamazoo. They operated an ice cream and lunch room in Richland. Later Clyde worked for Gibson Co. in Kalamazoo.

Night photograph, by Lance Ferraro of The Richland Presbyterian Church. Text on back: "Night Picture by Lance Ferraro. Donated by Sharon Ferraro 9-08 EH. Richland, M First Presbyterian Church." Founders of the church were settlers from Hudson, Ohio. In 1831 the Presbyterian congregation was organized under the 1801 Plan of Union adopted by the Presbyterian and Congregationalists for churches west of New York. The conjoining of both denominations were called Presbygationalists. Under the pastorate of Milton Bradley, at a cost of $7,000, the church was dedicated on 27 February 1861. The original bell cracked and was replaced in 1881. In 1886 the bell tower was reduced in height 30 feet. In 1952 the interior was altered, but the original pews remained.
