Top left of photograph has been torn away. Handwriting in the lower right reads: "Cutting Dept Kalamazoo Pant Co Kalamazoo Mich Shepardson Photo 12-28-2." Kalamazoo Pant Company began in 1867 when Samuel Rosenbaum opened a wholesale notions and dry good store. In 1870 he began to manufacture shirts and overalls, changing to just trousers for men and boys.
