Spine of an illustrated book of hours, in Latin, by Simon Vostre and Pierre Pigouchet. Gilt-tool floral decoration stamped between the raised bands.
Provenance:
Printed in Paris by Simon Vostre and Pierre Pigouchet about 1502 based on Almanac dated 1502-1520. “Bohatta 752” written in pencil on verso of first flyleaf. Stern-Graveur book plate with motto “ex libris” device on front pastedown. Front cover stamped with "Nicole" in floral border; back cover stamped with "De Viry" in floral border.
