Front cover of an illustrated book of hours, in Latin, by Simon Vostre and Pierre Pigouchet. Front cover is stamped with “Nicole” in floral border and framed in double rule gilt with fleur-de-lis style symbol in each corner. Raised band spine are worn. Ribbon is still attached to the front cover.
Provenance:
Printed in Paris by Simon Vostre and Pierre Pigouchet about 1502 based on Almanac dated 1502-1520. “Bohatta 752” written in pencil on verso of first flyleaf. Stern-Graveur book plate with motto “ex libris” device on front pastedown. Front cover stamped with "Nicole" in floral border; back cover stamped with "De Viry" in floral border.
