Description:
Black-and-white photograph of exterior of the Alamo Center School on D Avenue west of 6th Street, Alamo, Michigan. View shows the one-room building located back off the road and features the main entrance and bell tower. Behind the school is a one-story building that may be part of farm located behind the school. View also shows hand water pump in front and flag pole near bell tower. The building was erected in 1873, and continued to be used as a classroom even after it was annexed into Otsego school district in 1957. It was used as a home for many years, but later was destroyed by fire 22 June 1992. Handwritten text along the lower left in white reads: "Alamo High School, Alamo, Michigan."
