Letter from musketeer Paul Pommer, addressed to the family of Gust. (Gustav) Pommer in Frankfurt, Germany. Letter dated January 27, postmarked Kais Deutsche Feldpost, January 28, 1918. Pommer writes about the day's festivities celebrating Kaiser Wilhelm II's birthday. There was a march, parade, and other formal events for soldiers such as singing. Pommer claims it had not been like this since Christmas. There was an excellent meal of goulash and potatoes, with sausage and butter later in the evening with coffee.
