Picture postcard from musketeer Paul Pommer, addressed to the family of Gust. (Gustav) Pommer in Frankfurt, Germany. Postmarked Friedberg, Hessen, December 31, 1917. The card shows three photographs of buildings in Friedberg being used as temporary barracks. Text: "FRIEDBERG i. HESSEN, Helmholt'sche Gut, jetzt vorübergehend Kaserne des III. Bat. 5. Großh. Hess. Inf. - Reg. 168, 10., 11. u. 12. Komp." Pommer writes that this will be the last letter he will write to them from the homeland, as he will be sent off to the front very soon.
