Title:
Paul Pommer correspondence, 1918-07-12, World War I
Creator:
Tuten?
Description:
Letter from Pommer's friend Tuten to musketeer Paul Pommer in Glogau, Poland. Postmarked Schleswig, July 12, 1918. The letter possibly written by Pommer's friend Tuten. At the top of the letter, upside-down, Tuten writes that the way the letter is written is not his fault, since he just got Pommer's address, and wrote in a rush. In the letter, he sends greetings and his address. He adds that he is just as far away from Lydia as Pommer is. He is hospitalized after being injured during grenade fire. He was operated on twice, since shrapnel was lodged into him. There is still a lot of healing to be done. Lydia writes to him so beautifully, his letter is the opposite. He wonders if the man upstairs reads these letters. He contemplates the afterlife. He asks Pommer how he feels about having this experience. He ends the letter by asking Pommer to write back about this, and sends his greetings as a friend and comrade.
