Letter from musketeer Paul Pommer addressed to the family of Gust. (Gustav) Pommer in Frankfurt, Germany. Postmarked Glogau, May 25, 1918. Pommer expresses his disappointment that he went a little further from Frankfurt than expected. In the middle of the week he left Brussels and traveled by train into midday Saturday. The lengthy train was stressful and uncomfortable, so he is happy to be off. Now he is in Schlesien, in the old town of Glogau, at a military hospital. Pommer states that the his wound has no more pain but his under arm is very swollen. He was under the belief he would be in a hospital near Frankfurt, as his peers explained, and is very confused as to why he ended up so far away from Frankfurt. Pommer requests that perhaps his father can go to Herrn Schalk and get some information on how one transfers closer to home. He mentions a potential application to fill out; Adler Bogen is the one to talk to about this matter. Pommer hopes this situation can change.
