Letter from musketeer Paul Pommer addressed to the family of Gust. (Gustav) Pommer in Frankfurt, Germany. Postmarked Kriegslazarett Brussels Feldpost, hand dated March 27, 1918. Pommer details the immediate aftermath of his injury. He states that the Monday prior on the 24 the tides turned, and under machine gun fire was shot in his upper left arm causing damage to his muscles. He has yet to receive more information on his condition. Pommer describes the 160 men in his unit and the 8 he was with directly, 2 dying instantly. Weak due to blood loss, he decides to conclude writing the letter. He mentions that he will send his address once he learns of it.
