Illustrations of a small Balinese palm leaf manuscript (lontar) showing scenes from a retelling of the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. The scenes feature a forest setting where Maricha disguises himself as a golden deer to lure Rama from the hermitage. Other characters pictured are Rama and Sita. View also features the inner, flat side of the manuscript cover.
