Description:
Brown covered scrapbook that contains black and white photographs, letters and newspaper clippings about her achievements in the nineteen thirties and forties. The photographs feature professional portrais of Merze Tate, graduation portraits, a couple views of one-room school where Merze Tate attended as a child, views of people she stayed with when traveling in Europe, views from England, and pictures of her students. The newspaper clippings detail the receiving of degrees from several colleges Merze Tate attended, major historical events, announcements of scholarships and rewards. The letters include notices of acceptance to various colleges and societies, and personal thank you letters. Also included are invitation cards, commencement programs, and wedding announcements from friends. On the cover of the scrapbook is an embossed fox or dog.
