description
Twelfth-century Austrian leaf in Latin from a sacramentary containing liturgy for the 8th-13th Sundays after the feast of the Trinity.
Description
false
Provenance:
Produced in Austria around 1150, the folio was originally part of a complete Sacramentary. The Katalog der Datierten Handschriften in Latenischer Schrift in Oesterreich (vol. I, p. 36) contains a sister leaf. The number "35" is inscribed twice in pencil in the top right corner, possibly an indication of the leaf's original folio number. Remnants of a later inscription ("RSS" is the only legible section) are on the bottom right of the recto in pencil. Purchased by Special Collections, Waldo Library from Mackus Company, Akron, Ohio on June 19, 2001.
