Description
false
Provenance:
Written in Spain between 1470 and 1487, probably for a monastery in the diocese of Saragossa (Cottineau 2:2950). The Feast of "translacio S. Iacobi Apostoli," Saint James the Greater, traditional founder of the church of Saragossa, has been added to the calendar (f.7v). The date 1470 occurs in the past tense within the Spanish notes on the computational table on f. 8r, while that on f. 10v incorporates the year 1450. Belonged to A. Beaucousin in the nineteenth century; book plate on the front paste down and on the final fly leaf: "M Beaucousin, Yvetot." Purchased from M. Lemaillier, Rue Chateaudun 25, Paris, for the Abbey of Gethsemani in 1922. Property stamp of Gethsemani Abbey on recto of fol. 1.
