The plaque reads: This memorial dedicated by Comstock Public School to honor those who gave their lives in service for God and out country in memoriam. Following the dedication is a list of names: Robert Brock, Jack Gates, Keith Short, Jack Kirby, John Zandt, Dean Foster, George M. Sanders, Duane Burch, Lane Weston, Frank Waldo, Joseph Nightingale, John Storteboom, Nathan Sayre, Claud Pierce, Robert Waldo, Robert Nichols, Edwin Beiby. A dedication event was reported in the Kalamazoo Gazette dated April 8, 1945, page 22, and gives further details.
