Description:
Newly installed street lighting along Portage Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. According to documentation accompanying the photograph, the photograph was taken to show lighting after a "change-over". View also includes part of a two-story building and street signs. The building was the former location of John C. Klosterman Company. Signs in the display windows read "For Rent". The business next to Klosterman's former location is Witter's Drug store (1105 Portage Street). Other signs both lighted and unlighted, include: Yale Tires, Super Market, Standard Service, Atlas, Drugs. In front of the drug store is a vehicle with the following text on the side and back: Twin City Supply Co., South Bend, Ind. The display window of Klosterman's former store features show posters. The photograph was take for Kalamazoo City Water and Lighting.
