Man operating recently installed machinery at Star Brass Works in Kalamazoo, Michigan. View shows a man in work clothing standing beside a cage of aluminum castings in a cage held over a pit or cooling well. Behind the man is a likely an industrial oven or furnace. According to an article in the Kalamazoo Gazette (Feb. 16, 1941), Star Brass Works just completed a new foundry for an aluminum castings line. Five oil furnaces were installed as part of this addition. The photograph was taken for Despatch Oven Company.
