Description:
Group of unidentified boys wearing uniforms and standing in a stairwell at Barbour Hall Junior Military Academy in Nazareth, Michigan. The photograph was taken for Barbour Hall and Sister Christine. Barbour Hall was a school for boys that was founded in 1902 by Monsignor Francis O'Brien. In 1941 a modified military program was incorporated into the daily routine and the name of the school became Barbour Hall Junior Military School. The school closed following the 1978-1979 academic year. Sister Christine was a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph who worked with the Academy's administration to educate the boys.
