Sepia mounted photograph of two men, one is likely Byron Vanderbilt, in carriage harnessed to two horses and stopped in front of a house. Handwritten text on the back of the photograph reads “the off horse is ‘Star Pointer’ time 1.59 1/4, owner B. M. Vanderbilt.” View includes an iron fence and dirt road. Both men are wearing suites and hats. In the background is a farm and house located in Brookston, Indiana. Star Pointer was a harness race horse, the first go a mile in less than two minutes.
