Operated by the Van Pelts, the original store was moved from Will Greer's farm Ross Township in 1900 to Yorkville and a Post Office was soon added. Ownership of the business by 1972 were: Edward Townsend, George Bietry, Mrs. E. Stafford, Merton Phillips, Carl Reese, Carl Hamilton and F.L. Hamilton.
