Mounted black and white photograph of 1904 flood of the Kalamazoo River, in downtown Battle Creek, Michigan. Perspective looks south from Jackson St. and down old South Jefferson St. (presently Capital Ave. S.W.) View includes people on sidewalk, vehicles in street, horse drawn vehicles and deep water in the street. Alone both sides of the street are two-story stops, many with signs. Some signs read, from left to right: Battle Creek Sewing Co. Health Beer, Mascot Restaurant, Lunch, We Buy Watches Watch Repairing. Typed text along the lower edge of the photograph identifies the scene.
