Photograph album with floral, cloth cover. 9 ¾ x 12 ½ x ¾ in. There are thirty-eight pages with a total of 153 photographs of varying sizes. Photographs are pasted down, occasionally with handwritten date or name. World War I era photographs, most likely belonging to Ludwig Koch, whose card is pasted to the last page and reads, “Ludwig Koch, Secondlieutenant, im K. 3., Feld-Artillerie Regiment, “Königin Mutter.” The subjects of the images are varied, including: young men in uniform; captured artillery; German soldiers in France; group portraits of sailors, officers, nurses, and convalescing soldiers; infantry units; family or friends in civilian clothing; military cemeteries; training exercises; and studio portraits of young officers.
