Photograph album with geometric, cloth cover. 6 ½ x 9 x 1 in. There are twenty-four pages with four photographs per page in window-pane openings. Photographs are not visibly identified and the backs are not easily accessed. Album contains the personal photographs of an unknown German soldier in WWI on the Western front, mostly likely in France or Belgium. The subjects of the images are varied, including: aerial images of the front lines from an observation plane; observation plane with pilot and observer; battlefields and trenches; no man’s land; bombed-out buildings, churches, towns, and railroad tracks; French prisoners of war and captured weapons; observation balloons; German hospital staff; and German soldiers and officers.
