Description:
Letter from musketeer Paul Pommer addressed to the family of Gust. (Gustav) Pommer in Frankfurt, Germany. Postmarked K.D. Feldpost, April 4, 1918. Front of the envelope features a gray-scale photograph of Leopold I's memorial. Pommer mentions that he has a fever and a cough, which worsens at night. He describes the pain of a battle wound about the size of his palm, as well as lacking energy and being in poor shape. Housed in a church, he is grateful the churches still stand. He offers his thanks to God for allowing him to still be alive and adds that if the wound gets better, he will absolutely make it back to Germany.
