Description:
The Register of Inmates at the Poorhouse in Comstock Township near the Kalamazoo River, lists persons who stayed at the poor house between 1885-1912. The register records names, age, sex, city of residence, nationality, date of receiving into poorhouse, person who received person into poorhouse, date of discharge, time in poorhouse in weeks and days, cause of discharge, cause of receiving into poorhouse, disabilities, and other remarks.
Physical Description:
Four permits for burial or removal forms pasted on back of first page. The cover is worn and sewing threads are visible. Binding includes marbled end-papers. The register has 135 numbered leaves; 95 leaves are filled out with handwritten data.
