Color lithographs--England--20th century
This plate is an early example of the lithographic color separation process . The process necessitated that it be printed special coated paper that then had to be attached (tipped-in) to a page in the book. The example is the frontispiece of Arabian nights, and is annotated "Princess Scheherazade, the Heroine of the Thousand-And-One Nights, Ranks Among the Great Storytellers of the World". Stories from the Arabian nights / retold by Laurence Housman; with drawings by Edmund Dulac.
Arabian nights: Stories from the Arabian nights. Nottingham: Hodder and Stoughton, 1907.
