The Infants Shop retail counter in the Powers Department Store, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The view features mannequins standing in front of a counter with a window display and with accessories. Behind the counter is shelving with boxes of children's clothing. On both sides of the counter is children's clothing hung up in recessed areas. The photograph was taken for Ed Rossi. According to an advertisement in the Kalamazoo Gazette (September 6, 1939), Power's Department Store had a Style Show at the store on September 7. In another article dated September 24, 1939, reports that Power's Department Store underwent several "remodelings, enlargings, and redecoratings. But non so thoroughly comprehensive as the changes just completed, bringing 'streamlined' departments to serve every need ... including one of the largest and best equipped beauty salons in this part of the state."
