Description:
Group portrait of six, unidentified boys dressed in cowboy costumes. The boys attended the Barbour Hall Junior Military Academy. The photograph was taken for Barbour Hall and Sister Christine. Barbour Hall was a school for boys that was founded in 1902 by Monsignor Francis O'Brien. In 1941 a modified military program was incorporated into the daily routine and the name of the school became Barbour Hall Junior Military School. The school closed following the 1978-1979 academic year. Sister Christine was a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph who worked with the Academy's administration to educate the boys.
