Description Exterior of Mac Sim Bar Paper Company in Otsego, Michigan, featuring the new 180 foot stack at the paper mill. Emerging from two boilers, the smokestack was constructed of steel and installed the previous week. There are two men atop the stack and a flag. In the foreground are shipping materials strewn next railroad tracks. The paper company was named for Minet B. McClellan, Samuel W. Simpson, and George E. Bardeen.

Description Man seated on a horse-drawn, open bed wagon with two men in long coats standing. Sign on wagon reads: "We are delivering 40 Remington Typewriters to Kalamazoo Public Schools." Photo was taken at the southwest corner of South West Street and Pearl Street. Behind the wagon is Kalamazoo High School (third building, 1898-1922) with 1913 gymanasium addition. Typewriters were delivered to coincide with the Michigan State Teachers Association convention that was held in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Description Exterior of the original administration building facade for Western State Normal School with steps leading to Davis Street. View is looking west. Construction of the school’s first building began in 1904 on Prospect Hill. It housed administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, and a library. The two-story structure clad in brick featured a portico with six Greek pillars, an arch window over the main entry, and a cupola designed by architect Ernest W. Arnold. The building welcomed its first class of students in September 1905 and remained in use as a teaching facility until 1990. Known as the Administrative Building, the Education Building, and finally by 1967 as East Hall. Renovated as the new WMU Alumni Center in 2012. Officially renamed Heritage Hall in 2015.
