Approximately 1500-1100 BCE
Description:
Egyptian papyrus, approximately 1500-1100 BCE, or the Eighteenth to Twentieth dynasty. A leaf from the “Book of the Dead,” this would have been buried with the person they honored. There is a small illustration in it accompanied by hieroglyphics written with lamp-black or charcoal mixed with water and an adhesive added.
