Description: 
Twelfth- to thirteenth-century, French portion (chapters 39-54) of Liber sex principiorum, the commentary on the last six classes in the tenfold schema elaborated in Aristotle's Categories--the first of his works on logic. The portion here deals with place and time. CPMA, 1:43.39-54. Popularly attributed to Gilbertus Porreta, Bishop of Poitiers (d. 1154). Extensive interlinear glossing, marginal annotations and schemata. Numerous manicula.
Provenance: 
Produced towards the end of the twelfth century or the first half of the thirteenth century, probably in France. Purchased by Special Collections, Waldo Library from the Mackus Company, Akron Ohio, May, 2010.
